Ms. Chandrima Roy, Saket, New Delhi : I take this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude for taking care of Chumki-our pet and the soul of our family with a conscentious heart and a professional approach. There have been umpteen number of instances of my desperately calling you up at any hour of the day, with reports of duress to Chumki. At times they were serious, and at other times, just my overt concern bordering paranoia about serious harm to Chumki's well being. I must say that each time you listened with the greatest of patience and gave advice that assured us of Chumki's well being.
There have been many instances where you have cured Chumki, who now is all set to turn 14 on March 31, 2005.

Here I wish to mention 2 very important points in Chumki's life, which I can emphatically say that she was given a second life by you.

The first instance was in 2001 February. CHumki had come back home after her regular walk and running in the park. Something was amiss. I called you, and described symptoms that had really scared the wits out of me. She was all curled up with her head and jaw getting a bit stiff,and she was in discomfort. I reported the matter to you. The first instruction from you I followed...no change...I called again...another instruction...this went on for about 3 hours from 19:00hrs-22:00hrs. Then I was desperately telling you how her saliva was drooling tinged with blood.

The immediate response: "Chandrima, Iam on my way, get Chumki to my clinic!" It was a suspected case of poisoning, and it required immediate attention. From 22:30hrs till well past midnight, you dilligently put her on drips, administered antidotes, kept her awake, and it was well past 1 in the morning that you discharged chumki, when she was on her feet. Chumki was saved. The subsequent days required number of saline drips, blood tests and medications...too many stressful days and nights of prayer for Chumki, but a firm belief in all our hearts that Chumki was in safe hands, and she will pull through. Chumki, saw her 10th birthday after this instance only because of you.

The second incident is a very recent one-July 2003. Chumki was not her usual self for 3-4 days. A bit listless, but then that seemed normal for a 12+ German Shepherd. But all anti pyretics were of no use, and she found it increasingly difficult to turn sides while sleeping. we rushed her to you. She was very unwell. She had high fever and infection in the stomach. I still remember the sombre look on your face, because you knew that the situation was not good.

But you assured us that the best would be done...and sure you did it..2days into her illness we tried to come to terms with the impending reality that we may have to face the dreadful truth that Chumki had left us....4 days down the treatment, Chumki was back on her feet with the twinkle returning to her eyes and the most beautiful sight of her wet nose! Chumki gets another new life...thanks to you!
Chumki celebrated her 13th birthday with a grand party that included all the kids in the colony who are her friends.

There are of course instances that involved a surgery to remove a tumour on her fore-arm at the age of 9, severe blood diarrohea, injured toes and many....and each time Chumki has been relieved of her pain by you.

Chumki, is the focal point around which our lives and world revolves. We also know that there will be a time when she will leave us. The void caused by her loss can never be filled up, but we are happy that as she lived, she was cared and looked after by a very special doctor-Dr. Ajay Guliani. Chumki's doc is truly blessed for he gets all the good wishes of numerous animals-patients for the doc, for whom he is their voice. Blessed are those animals who get his healing touch.

Blessed are those who can entrust their pets to him.

Ms. Ridhi Narula - M-15 Green Park Main, ND : I've got a Lhasa Apso which, in June 2004, had an attack of paralysis. His two back legs became completely dead and he just couldn't move from one place. I went to his regular vet but he couldn't diagnose the problem. I went to a few others but to no avail.
